I thought I would send this around now as it is a review of the budget and so time sensitive. I am a massive fan of Planet Normal and have listened to it from the beginning but thought this was an especially good episode. Gerald Lyons does a good job to breakdown the tax and spend difference that will come over the full electoral cycle. I also largely agree that we should be borrowing more to invest though sadly expect most of it is going to be wasted by Ed Millivolts on green blobbery and into the maw of the NHS. However what I really enjoyed was the discussion with Liz Truss which I found myself agreeing with throughout. Yes the OBR and the BOE should be abolished / reined in, yes net zero is a big part of the problem, yes the Tories will have to do a deal with Farage and yes Labour haven't got a clue. 

For the people in the cheap seats GDP growth is affected over the short and long-term by a mixture of:

• Tax system and structure

• Energy prices and availability

• Regulatory structure inc planning

• Education and skills

• Infrastructure
